February 6, 2012

This week was the craziest week of my mission so far. To start off, my district leader's companion went home a week early so he could keep his visa, and so we were with him almost all week. It was difficult going between all three wards we now covered. Going back and forth between the apartments, and trying to organize what we were going to do was not fun. On the up side, we did have a car so that wasn't so bad.

Next off, one of the days our district leader wasn't with us, my companion woke up with intense pain. It was about 6 so it wasn't so bad, but we had to call our district leader to take him to the hospital. It was about 7 or 8 calls to different people just to get someone to answer.

Well, we had several trips to the hospital getting lost, and we actually had to go to a place right next to the hospital. But then my companion forgot his wallet with his ID so we had to go all the way back and get it. We found out that it was kidney stones and he had a lot of pain. He now has like 3 or 4 pills to take, and they all make him drowsy. Needless to say he's now one sleepy elder.

My companion and I also bore our testimonies in fast and testimony meeting, and then one of our investigators did so as well. It was a pretty interesting week full of plans being changed and an emergency run to the hospital.

P.S. from Marilyn:
The top photo is Elder Greenwood and Elder Huffaker (L to R), taken moments before the email was sent. The lower photo is a "snake" made out of bread, which they had at a member's house. It's all bread except for raisin eyes and a fruit leather tongue.
