Pictures! As promised!

-First is who we call "likkle boy". He's a member's adopted son and he loves the puss (as they call it here) that he call's the puddin'

-Then there's Cedric, he's a really good cook that used to work at one of the hotels here. We're trying to get him reactivated and to serve a mission.

-The next two were of when Elder More was here a couple of Wednesdays ago on a tradeoff. He had a bit of cinnamon roll cake with reggae boys flavor ice cream.

-Lastly, back at the Frazure's home (where Cedric and likkle boy live) they pulled out this home made air compressor.

So, for my two week coverage, as you can see, there's cinnamon roll cake and reggae boys ice cream. This is basically what Elder Vea and I are living off of. I'm sure I'm gonna receive some criticism for having too much dessert, especially if it's for breakfast.

Then, last week, I mentioned how we took a taxi ride up for our Sunday dinner and the taxi was falling apart. Well, what I failed to mention, is after dinner, I was telling Elder Vea about how sometimes, missionaries are just so amazing that we receive free rides. This man from Florida was driving by and... gave us a free ride. We were talking about what we as missionaries do. But, we forgot to leave him with anything! It killed both of us that we didn't even give him a pass along card. Then we started thinking that maybe this will be the beginning of his conversion. "It all started with two missionaries standing along side the road in Jamaica."

Last week after our p-day was over, the zone leaders came for another tradeoff. Both of them stayed in Falmouth this time instead of one of us leaving. So, I went around with the other zone leader, Elder Mason.

Do you ever have one of those cruel moments whether it's irony or karma, I dunno. But Elder Vea and I were riding along like usual, and when we stopped at an investigator's house, he noticed he had dog poop on his tire. I laughed and told him that it sucked to be him. No sooner had we left and gone to another investigator's house, and I had dog poop on my bike tire. The way things have of coming back to bite you in the butt.

We had some more tourists at church yesterday, this family was from Sandy Utah. Really nice family. I think the last name was Peters.

Otherwise, it was pretty uneventful this week.
Elder Vea has a week and a half left of his mission.

That's all folks,

Quickly....

Brandon's email this week was a little short. This photo of the house where they're living was one he sent last week. I would assume that the elders rent a part of the house, rather than the whole thing. Notice it's on a hill! --Marilyn

Well, I gotta do this quick because I'm over my time.

This week, Elder More came on a trade off from Lucea. When Elder Vea got back, he brought a game he borrowed from the other Elder in Lucea. So we've been playing Settlers of Zarahemla when we're all done for the night at home. It's a pretty fun game.

Then, yesterday, we took the weirdest taxi out to our dinner appointment. This car was falling apart. The whole rear end was shifting and the guy's wiper blades wouldn't function correctly at all.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to write any more everyone. please forgive me and hopefully I can make it up to you all next week with some photos.

Well, before Elder Vea and I got to kick off the New Year, we had an unexpected trade off with the zone leaders. I went to Sav le Mar for a day and got to sit in a vehicle with air conditioning. While I was gone, an investigator we were teaching decided she wanted to be baptized and was interviewed while on this tradeoff.

Then, our branch had a New Years party in which Elder Vea and I had to leave early, because our mission president wanted us in before too late and all the drunks head out for their fun. We were supposed to get fed at this party, but the food ended up having to be delivered to us at our house.

Then, of course, we had our baptism. I'm the one who did the performance and we did it in the ocean. My white pants were trying to fall down a lot. So I can officially say it doesn't always happen in a font.

Christmas in Jamaica!

Here is a sampling of photos that Brandon sent from Christmas. We sent him a box for Christmas, and made him a personalized stocking. In the background you can see the string of lights we also sent along. I kind of wished he'd gotten the box early enough to have them up during December, but this works also!

To give him a "taste of home", we sent him some of our gingerbread cookies, with icing & sprinkles to decorate his own. I'm not sure what he did with the icing tips, since it looks like he's using it straight from the tube!

It wouldn't be Christmas without eggnog! We didn't ship it (are you kidding?), so he must have gotten some locally, perhaps at the mission Christmas party:

One of our family traditions has been cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning. Brandon geared up way early for this, to make sure he had the recipe & all the ingredients. Since their kitchen counter space is pretty limited, he made his rolls on his desk. However, he ran into an issue with runny dough, so it ended up as a loaf. I think it tasted just fine, though!

And, he finally sent us a photo of President and Sister Graff, also from the mission Christmas party in Kingston. Santa also visited the elders there, and there was a basketball tournament in Portmore as well.

Brandon also mailed out just a few Christmas cards this year, which we were thrilled to receive. It's officially the Card from the Farthest Location we've ever gotten! Merry Christmas!!!
